Linnaea first joined Artisans in 1993 as a 16-year-old seasonal hire—and never left! Sixteen years later, she celebrated her anniversary by buying the business. Since then, she’s honored the legacy of this beloved Santa Cruz institution while evolving it into Artisans & agency, a space for American-made art, design, and feel-good goods. With a degree in art history, Linnaea brings a curator’s eye and a community builder’s heart to everything she does—from spotlighting emerging makers to introducing Denmark’s Christiania Bikes to the U.S. She and her husband Peter continue to shape the shop as a creative hub rooted in craftsmanship, connection, and fun. In 2026 Linnaea and the store will both turn 50!
